Announcements 2/8/16

Jill Myers: Attention Cavs! Homecoming has been moved to February 9th. This will be Spirit day so dress in Cavalier colors, attend the pep rally, and come to the game to support your Cavalier basketball teams! Darlene Hatcher: Sophomores and Juniors who applied to Governor’s school! If you receive an email of acceptance or for the waiting list, please let your counselor know. Lori Strode: Students interested in participating in the “Show Child Advocacy Center Some Love” stuffed animal drive should bring stuffed animals to Ms. Strode in the 2nd floor Counseling Center between now and Feb. 12. Robin Ford: Students, are you interested in a tour to Europe during the summer of 2017. Want to stand inside of the historic Colosseum, tour famous Roman ruins, and eat Italian pizza and gelato in Rome? Come to the board outside Ms. Ford’s room-156 and pick up information regarding our trip. We will hold a meeting to discuss our destination on Tuesday, February 16th at 6PM in Room 156. Colonel Philpot: The CHS JROTC will be sponsoring a collection project in support of the CHS Food Pantry Project. We request all CHS Students that can possibly particpate to do so by bringing in non-perishable food items to school and placing them in the various collection boxes located near the entrances of the main office, commons office, and the academic offices on all 3 floors. Collections will continue until March 2. Thanks to all for looking out for your fellow CHS Cavaliers....

Allison Mahan:  Attention students! The annual Winter Ball hosted by CHS Student Congress and Interact will be held on Saturday, February 6, from 7-10pm in the CHS Commons. The event will be DJed by Freaky Dave, and the dress is semi-formal. Tickets will be sold in the commons for $10 starting Tuesday and will be sold through the end of lunch on Friday. Students must present their student ID in order to purchase a ticket AND at the door to get in to the dance. No tickets will be sold at the door of the dance. We hope to see you there! Remember, you must pay and sit for IB exams or your GPA will be affected. Sherri Leimer: The CHS TEST (Traffic Education Saves Teens) Club will meet this Friday, February 5th, at lunch in the lecture hall. We will be serving pizza and drinks. Kelsey Denney: Interact Club! New credit opportunities are starting now! Everyday during lunch we need interacters to make decorations for the Winter Ball. Come by Ms. Denney’s room 333 to help and sign up for more credits! If you are a senior interact student, scholarships are available see Ms. Denney for more info.
