The Noel Cherry Athlete Leadership Scholarship presented by Upper Cumberland Fellowship of Christian Athletes

We are offering a one-time $1000 scholarship again this year to a Senior Athlete involved with FCA.  This scholarship is only available to students from Putnam County.  To be eligible, a student must be an athlete who is a leader on his or her team, and involved in FCA. Veronica Pennington, M.P.A. Coordinator of Diversity Initiatives – Hello from Athens! We are now accepting applicants to our VetCAMP 2019, which is scheduled for June 16-22, 2019. This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshmen to evaluate their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, provide mentorship and help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. It’s a great experience and the students have a lot of fun while also learning about the profession. The application for VetCAMP 2019 is available now on our website (http://vet.uga.edu/academic/vetcamp). The deadline for all application materials is January 25, 2019. Please share this information with any qualified students who may be interested in veterinary medicine. The cost of attending the program is $900 and covers lodging, meals, instruction and social activities. Financial assistance is available to students with demonstrated need. For more information regarding scholarship opportunities, please inform your students to contact vetcamp@uga.edu. Koye Henderlight Cooper – Tea sale Thursday during lunch! Counselors – Just a reminder that Tennessee Tech University’s scholarship deadline is quickly approaching – December 15th! Students must be admitted to Tech and then apply for scholarships through their ScholarWeb account to be eligible for admissions and departmental scholarships. Scholarships are competitive and not guaranteed. Counselors – Seniors, The Counseling Center has a scholarship for students whose parents may work in the housing industry in some way. This is the Stan and Thelma Plumlee Scholarship. Lori Strode – Congratulations to Lily Z Chaffin and Blaine Espinosa for being our Rotary Students of the month for October and to Sammie Hadlock and Danica Hall for being our November Rotary Students of the Month. We appreciate all you do to make CHS great! Counselors – Vol State DE Students, there will be a workshop for eLearn on January 9, 2019. Please plan on attending if you are taking online or CHEC classes. Some did not go this August and you missed out on information that you need to be productive in your class. You will need to print off the application. Applications and recommendation letters must be turned in to your counselor. Fine Arts applications are due to your counselor by Oct. 22.
