Counselors – The Tickle College of Engineering (TCE) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is pleased to announce our High School Introduction to Engineering Systems for Twelfth Graders (HITES12) summer engineering program for rising twelfth grade students. The program dates are July 7 – 14, 2019. HITES12 is a one-week, residential program for rising high school students. All students are encouraged to apply at engr.utk.edu/diversity/pre-college. ·
High School Introduction to Engineering Systems for Twelfth Graders (HITES12)
Rising twelfth grade students live in a residence hall on campus, engage in hands-on engineering fundamentals activities, attend college life sessions, compete in engineering challenges, and tour all seven of the TCE engineering departments. Throughout the program, students team up to apply what was learned and work on an engineering design project. All applicants must have a minimum ACT math score of 25 (SAT math score of 590).

Our mission is to provide students who show an interest in engineering studies an early exposure to, and preparation for, scientific study and research. Hands-on activities will spark an interest in the world of engineering and allow students to explore career opportunities. Throughout the program, participants will be challenged to apply what they have learned in engineering competitions. Counselors – Seniors:In celebration and recognition of Bill Penn’s 30 years of service to the Upper Cumberland’s broadcast community, and his unequalled loyalty to his teammates, the stations of Stonecom present the Bill Penn Broadcast Scholarship. Lite Rock 95.9, 106-9 Kicks Country, Rock 93-7 and Cookeville’s News Talk 100.9/AM 1600 will present this scholarship to an Upper Cumberland student interested in broadcasting and related careers. This student will be a member of the next generation who will serve the local community by building upon Bill’s legacy. This $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded based on your academic record, your service both inside and outside the school, your extracurricular achievements, and your desire to pursue a career in broadcasting, communications, journalism, and/or marketing. The scholarship may be used for higher learning in this pursuit, beginning this fall. It is our honor here at Stonecom to award the Bill Penn Broadcast Scholarship to young people who have an interest in broadcasting and serving their community.

Counselors – The counseling center has applications for employment at the Clyde York 4″H Center.
Julie Benjamin – Students planning on running for student congress for the 2019-2020 school year will need to pick up an application packet from Ms.Benjamin in room 247 during the week of April 29th. All completed packets are due by May 3rd by 3:10 pm without exception. Campaigning will begin the following week with voting taking place during lunch on May 9th.
Counselors – CHS Awards Day will be May 3rd in the auditorium. The parents of those students receiving an award will receive a notification in the mail. Senior awards will begin at 8:30, Juniors 10:30, Sophomores 12:45 and Freshmen at 1:45.
Counselors – For those students that need to see Donna Sherrell about Dual Enrollment, she will be in the library lab during 6th period on Thursday, April 18th. Just a friendly reminder that you have a deadline to complete all paperwork by April 26th.
