Counselors – 2018 Governor’s School applications are available online. Google 2018 Governor’s School. You will need to print off the application. Applications and recommendation letters must be turned in to your counselor. Fine Arts applications are due to your counselor by Oct. 22. All other applications will be due to the counselor by November 19th.

Counselors – Have you started thinking about college yet? For students who want to serve their country in the military AND get a tuition-free, first class education, a U.S. Service Academy may be just the right fit. Academy graduates receive a bachelor’s degree in their field of study and become commissioned officers in their respective branch of service. Think you’ve got what it takes? Counselors – ATTENTION SENIORS: Volunteer State Community College will be set up in the lecture hall all day on Sept 18th. Stop by for a visit at your convenience to get help applying for college, financial aid and/or TN Promise questions. After successfully submitting your application to Vol State, you will receive a gift. This will be for Sept. 18th only, so make sure you stop by to apply.

Counselors – Sophomores and Juniors: September 1st is the day that 2019 TN Governor’s School applications become available online. Students must Google 2019 TN Governor’s School to get applications for each school. The completed Fine Arts applications are due to counselors on NOV. 5TH ALL other applications are due on NOV. 19th. If you need help with the process see your counselor.

Counselors – ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS: A representative from ASVAB will be in the commons area during lunch on Sept. 17th to assist you with signing up for the ASVAB.

2nd Floor Counseling – Attention Seniors! College App Week is September 17-21, 2018! Counselors will be available all that week during lunch to assist you with the application process. Many colleges have early application deadlines in order to be eligible for scholarships, so start applying as soon as possible! We will have representatives from several Universities and Community Colleges during the month of September to assist you. Keep looking at announcements for more information regarding College App Week! Go Cavs!

2nd Floor Counseling – Attention Juniors and Parents! There will be an informational meeting regarding Junior year on Monday September 10, 2018 at 5:30 in the CHS Auditorium. Important topics will be discussed. You are strongly encouraged to attend.

Julie Benjamin – Attention all IB diploma and course candidates: There will be a meeting Friday, September 7th, in the lecture hall during CavTime to discuss fees, deadlines, and general questions. Please make plans to attend.

 Sarah Cuebas – Basketball cheerleading tryouts will be held Tuesday, September 18 through Friday, September 21. Please pick up an information packet in Room 265 if interested.

Lori Strode – Attention TN Scholars! Please sign up for Remind Notifications for TNS Volunteer opportunities. Text 81010 and enter @tnscho in the message box.There are several upcoming opportunities for gaining volunteer hours.
Prescott South Middle School campus is being converted into an Arboretum. We are looking for volunteers to help clean up the space around our trees. If you know of students who are in need of volunteer projects, we would love their help. There will be a work session Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 9:00-12:00. Please bring garden gloves and water to drink. The work will be similar to yard work, pulling weeds & removing sticks. We will meet behind the outdoor classroom. Hope to see you there. -Jessica Welch
