Darlene Hatcher: ​10th and 11th : Governor’s Schools applications are available online at https://www.tn.gov/education/topic/tdoe-governors-schools. The completed application is due to the guidance office on November 20th so that the deadlines can be met.

Counseling Dept. : Governor’s School for the fine arts is now open. Fine Arts has an earlier deadline. Counselor’s will need everything completed for those applications no later than October 27th.

Julie Benjamin: The 5th Annual CHS Bonfire will take place this Thursday night (10/19) from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in front of the wrestling building. Come celebrate the last regularly scheduled home football game of the season by joining us for food, fire, and fun. Music provided by Freaky Dave.

Merry Flatt: Need a Halloween costume? The CHS Dance Arts classes are having a costume sale this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during lunch in the Upper East Gym. All items are priced from $1 to $15. Use your imagination to create the perfect Halloween costume with items from our collection!

Lori Strode: Attention Seniors in need of TN Scholars volunteer hours! Northeast Elementary School is looking for Seniors to share their post-secondary plans with their students during Career Day on Friday, Oct. 27. Lori Strode: Attention Seniors! There will be a Senior Scholarship Seminar this Friday during your lunch in the auditorium. We will be discussing various scholarship opportunities and giving out information regarding a new scholarship data base that is available this year. A representative from TTU will be here to assist with TTU related questions. All seniors are encouraged to attend.

Ciara Pittman: Show you care with a little scare! Purchase a Halloween candy gram for a friend, significant other, or favorite teacher! TEST club will be selling Halloween candy grams for $1 in the commons at lunch every day this week. Get your orders in ASAP!

Ciara Pittman: Every 17 minutes a teen dies in a car accident related to distracted driving. Please join TEST club in wearing white on Friday to raise awareness of teen driving fatalities. Faculty and student participation is welcome! Let’s white-out our school!

Michelle Bowman: iAM Club is hosting a book drive for Baxter Primary School. If you would like to donate a new or gently used book for their school library, please drop the book(s) off in room 274. The books should be appropriate for Pre-K through 2nd Grade. We will be collecting books until November 3rd. Thank you!

Michelle Bowman: iAM Club is sponsoring a toiletries drive for the CHS Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted any time between now and November 3. Some suggestions are: Deodorant, Shampoo, Body wash, Razors, Shaving Cream, Lotion, Toothpaste, and Toothbrushes. Please drop your donations off in room 274. Thank you!!

Rising Above Ministries Vision banquet is Tuesday, November 7 from 6:00-8:00 PM at The River Community Church. We are in need of volunteers to serve food, child care and clean up after the banquet. We would love the for the students in the TN Scholar or TN Promise program to volunteer. All volunteers will receive a free Rising Above t shirt to wear on that night. Please have students include their t shirt size in the “comment” space when they sign up.
