Hatcher: This summer, tnAchieves is offering the Summer Bridge Program at all 13 community colleges. This is the third year we have been able to offer this program, so you may have heard of it before. If you have not, this program is a FREE 3-week academic boot camp designed to assist students in testing out of learning support classes they otherwise would be required to take their first semester of college. Students will take classes in reading, writing and math, and will have a lunch and learn session each day to provide information on what it means to be a successful college student. On the final day of the program, students will complete a placement test. Any student requiring remedial courses is eligible to apply. Shannon Renegar: Health Science Clinical Internship applications are now available in Mrs. Renegar’s room and the counseling offices. Only rising seniors who have completed at least two health science classes are eligible to apply. Hatcher: The Balanced Man Scholarship allows SigEp to find balanced men who embody the fraternity’s values and ideals as a high school graduating senior. The Balanced Man Scholarship awards its recipients a $400 scholarship. This scholarship applies to every male that is attending Tennessee Tech in the fall. Kisha: April is Autism Awareness Month! Ms. West’s class will be selling Autism Awareness badges that light up for $2 during lunch for the rest of April. Please show your support by buying a badge and wearing it proudly.
R. Robinson: IB Exams: Students who are taking IB Exams in May will have a mandatory meeting on Tuesday (April 25) during the first half of lunch. It is IB policy that students formally review exam procedures before their testing date. Students will also receive their exam schedules and parking passes for TTU. There will be NO makeup date for this meeting.
Jeana Piggott: Class of 2017- Project Graduation Tickets will be on sale April 25-28 at lunch time in the commons area. Tickets are $20 each. This includes your ticket, shirt, and goodie bag. See Ms. Piggott in room 51 if you have questions.
Jeana Piggott: Project Graduation will have a “give-back” day at any participating Pizza Hut on April 27. This is any time of the day. Online orders need the code #1052. If picking up or ordering in the store you can show the flier that will be in an email or on the school website.
Lori: Attention Seniors Graduating with Latin Honors! There will be an Ice Cream Social in your honor on Friday April 28 the second half of lunch! This is also College Signing Day so wear a t-shirt from the college you plan to attend in the fall and join us on the patio to celebrate!
