Jay Watson: For just one dollar, come to Room 50 to play games in the computer lab and spend time with friends. The lab will be open for games on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

Allison Mahan: Ticket sells for the football homecoming dance will begin Thursday, September 8, during lunch. The dance will be held after the homecoming game on Friday, September 16, from 9:30-11:30. The dress is semi-formal.

Homecoming T-shirts will go on sale in the Commons Area and at the CHS Bookstore during lunch starting Thursday, September 8, through Friday, September 16. The cost for this Comfort Color T-shirt is $12. Get yours before they sell out!

Karen Trentham: Seniors! Please come to the 3rd floor office to see Mrs. Trentham for your ACT Retake Voucher for the October 22nd test. The registration deadline is September 16th.

Darlene Hatcher: Cookeville High School Counselors will host a FASFA Frenzy on October 18th from 6:00 -9:00 pm to assist seniors and their parents to complete the FASFA for the 2017-18 school year.

Juniors and Seniors wanting to attend the Upper Cumberland College Fair on October 25th at Hyder Burk must complete an online registeration at www.GoToCollegeFairs.com. Students must print off the registration confirmation, have a parent sign and bring that form to Mrs. Parker. Deadline will be October 17th.

Students (10th and 11th grade) will need to go to the website to print off applications and directions. Fine Arts applications need to be turned in to their counselor no later than October 28th and all other applications are due no later than November 21st.

Judy Hadlock: The PSAT is the qualifying exam for JUNIORS for the National Merit Scholars program through College Board. The PSAT will be given at Cookeville High School October 15 at 8 am. The fee is $20 and students must pay in the second floor counseling office. There are a limited number of seats.

R. Robinson: IB Students: Please see Ms. Robinson if you are interested in the QuestBridge National College Match. High achieving, low-income students can receive full 4 year scholarships to 39 of the nation’s best colleges. Several of our IB students have applied for this program over the past few years. The deadline is Sept. 27.

Vicki Russell: KEY CLUB – Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 14th in the LECTURE HALL during the first half of lunch . Please plan to attend to find out about upcoming service opportunities and to be listed on our official roster.  

Tammie Hill: The Election Commission will be here at CHS during lunch on September 20th and 21st to register students that are 18 years of age that would like to vote in the 2016 election. They will be located by the senior lockers.

David Talbert: Tickets for the CHS Homecoming Dance will be on sale today through Friday, September 16th during lunch. Tickets are $10 and you must have a valid student ID to purchase a ticket. The dance will be held after the homecoming football game from 9:30-11:30. Dress is semi-formal.

Ciara Pittman: Come join the T.E.S.T. Club in breaking the world record with the biggest tug of war tournament ever! The event will take place on Oct. 29th at Tech’s Tucker Stadium. Register as an individual or team of 10. The cost is $15 per person. Cash prizes will be awarded to winning teams and the “best dressed” team. Register now through Oct. 15 at Eventbrite.com. Must be 14 or older to participate. Students and teachers are welcome to participate.

Cavalier Yearbook: Attention Golf, Volleyball, and Soccer Parents: Do you have cool photos of your student’s games? We would love to include them in the yearbook. Please download the Image Share App. It is free! Our project number is 724103. Then, send us your favorite game photos. While we can’t include every photo we receive, we will include as many as we can.

Shannon Renegar: There will be a HOSA meeting Friday, Sept. 16 in Mrs. Renegar’s room the second half of lunch. We will be signing up volunteers for the Susan G. Komen race and the CTSO Glow-in-the-Dark Dodgeball tournament.

Lori Strode: Attention TN Scholars! Today is our 1st meeting. Come and find out more about volunteer opportunities and meet your officers. Our meeting location has changed to the Auditorium during the 2nd half of lunch starting at 11:25. Hope to see you there!

Attention Seniors! It’s College App Week Time in Tennessee!! September 26-30 is College App Week! Counselors will be available during lunch Sept 26, 27, 28, and 30 in the second floor computer lab for students who have not already done so to come and apply to the college of their choice. Don’t forget to research the colleges you are interested in prior to applying to find out what information you may need as well as any application fees the institution might charge. Questions? See Ms. Strode in the 2nd floor counseling center.

Joy Hamby: The TeenReads Book Club will have its first meeting Tuesday during the first half of lunch in the CHS library. All who signed up are welcome to come!
