Congressman Black’s Military Service Academy Nominations

Congressman Diane Black is pleased to announce that she is now accepting applications for nominations to the Military Service Academies for the class of 2021. Nominations are required for the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination. Any upcoming seniors that are interested in applying for a service academy may now log on to Congressman Black’s website…

Graduation Instructions

The custom of wearing caps and gowns as a symbol of learning has been handed down through generations. Learned men of medieval times wore caps and gowns as symbol of high scholastic achievement. A commencement exercise is a great event in the life of a graduate. It is indeed an impressive ceremony. The cap, called the mortarboard, shall be worn so the mortarboard is level. Tassels shall be worn on the left side. The gown shall be worn closed.

The Balanced Man Scholarship

The Balanced Man Scholarship allows the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity ofTennessee Tech University to find balanced men who embody the fraternity’s values and ideals as a high school graduating senior. The Balanced Man Scholarship awards its recipients a $400 scholarship. This scholarship applies to every male that is attending Tennessee Tech in the fall. R. Robinson: IB Exams: Students who are taking IB Exams in May will have a mandatory meeting on Tuesday (April 25) during the first half of lunch. It is IB policy that students formally review exam procedures before their testing date. Students will also receive their exam schedules and parking passes for TTU. There will be NO makeup date for this meeting.
